It felt like Ian and I hadn’t been out for brunch for ages so when we saw a new place had opened nearby, we decided to spend a leisurely Saturday morning there.
The Weaving Shed is tucked away from the main town, overlooking the River Avon. It is a beautiful open-plan space and we were lucky enough to get a window seat.
We started with flat whites before ordering from the brunch menu. I almost ordered the banana and honey eggy bread but fancied something savoury so opted for a classic Eggs Royale.
Sat atop a sourdough slice, this was an ideal mix of poached eggs (perfectly runny), smoked salmon and a good hollandaise. Although quite rich, I really enjoyed this.
Ian had their English breakfast which, although beautifully presented, does appear rather sparse on such a large plate. However, he said it was very tasty and I liked the abundance of locally sourced ingredients.
I found the service at The Weaving Shed to be very friendly and the food reasonably priced. Brunch is a good way of testing a place out and given how much we enjoyed the food and atmosphere, I think we’ll be back soon for dinner.
