This has been a week of two halves; at work things have been pretty full on as we gear up for exams next week but this weekend has involved a spa day with my besties followed by a Chinese and birthday cake which reset the balance nicely! It has made me decide to treat myself to a facial or massage a bit more often as I just love being pampered.
I dropped my friend Lucie back at the train station in Bath this morning and instead of heading home to catch up on some work, I found myself on a mammoth spending spree…I’m talking hair products, foundations, nail varnish, shoes, beauty products and more so expect a haul post very soon!
This week I have been…
Making: an effort to start using up some of my beauty products (to make room for more!)
Going: to vote! Sadly, we didn’t have the result I hoped for but I feel satisfied knowing I did my part and feel my voice has been heard.
Wearing: pastel colours on my nails
Eating: a Chinese feast
Drinking: flat whites – my new favourite coffee order
Reading: so much about the election and results – I feel the whole country has a renewed interest in the country
Watching: Channel 4’s ‘Alternative Election’ until about 1am…it was tough getting up the next morning!
Buying: a selfie stick *ashamed face*
Planning: my next weekend with these girls
Cooking: a big pot of chili con carne which tasted even better the next day
Baking: mini Victoria sponges filled with strawberry jam, blackcurrant jam and lemon curd (the lemon ones were my favourite!)
Writing: my cross on my voting card
Favouriting: This person’s efforts to cross stitch a UK map as each election result came in!
Working on: my yoga – trying to do it every day and feeling better after each session
Trying to decide: if I really needed 5 new pairs of shoes and 2 new foundations
Wishing: for breakfast in bed more often
Enjoying: the Bank Holiday and a 3-day weekend
Needing: a spending ban for the rest of the month!
Feeling: completely relaxed after a back massage, facial and Indian head massage
Giggling at: the results from this website…my age has swung from early twenties to late fourties – I don’t take a blind bit of notice to it but it made me giggle nonetheless.
