Sunday Catch-up #14

I am writing this from our beautiful hotel room where we have just checked in and are killing some time before our friends’ wedding. Ian is practising his wedding reading and feeling a bit nervous whereas I am enjoying a cuppa with some Easter egg chocolate.

It has been a really great week! With the help of my parents, the guest bedroom is almost finished and lots more jobs around the house have been ticked off the to-do list. Ian and I had the most amazing few days in London squeezing in lots of good food, catch-ups with best friends and the most fun evening drinking German beer!

This week I have been…

Making: a start on my next cross stitch project

Going: to an excellent German Beer Festival at Alexandra Palace

Wearing: my new espadrilles…my anchor obsession shows no signs of fading

Eating: Schnitzel with one of my best friends

Drinking: Hibiscus margaritas

Reading: research papers for a qualification I’m doing for work…interesting but so time-consuming!

Watching: The debate and loving the fact that there were three women on the panel

Buying: beautiful lighting for our almost – finished guest bedroom (the fun part of decorating!)

Planning: a spa-day with my besties

Cooking: these quiches (chorizo, courgette and Parmesan and a caramelised onion and goat cheese)

Baking: these Yorkshire puddings which got my brother’s seal of approval

Writing: blog posts as we zoom along the M5!

Favouriting: Khila’s vlogs about her  trip to Vegas…take me back!

Working on: mastering the perfect Pilates plank

Trying to decide: whether to go short again at the hairdressers

Wishing: Chester and Louise a wonderful wedding day!

Enjoying: the lighter evenings and mornings now that the clocks have changed

Needing: a good night’s sleep!

Feeling: like I have squeezed so much into the last week

Giggling at: Ian catching my Dad out with an April Fool joke!

About hannahhotcakes

My name is Hannah. I live near Bath in a lovely village in the Cotswolds with my husband Ian, the love of my life for the past 10 years, in our dream cottage. I have landed my dream job as a primary school teacher and I can’t think of anything else I would rather be doing. I am a self-confessed foodie and I love to cook, bake, and eat out as much as possible. Here are some things I love: My friends and family, travelling, fresh flowers, good books, having breakfast on my balcony, horror films, Christmas, tea, Las Vegas, lie-ins, red wine, Liverpool FC, music, sausage dogs, Spain, rare steak, fashion, cheese, American TV series and camping. And here are my pet hates: People dressed as animals, whistling, being rushed, being made to wait, girls who act stupid to impress a man, spiders, sunburn and rocket (it comes with EVERYTHING!)
