I’ve just got home after our wonderful village fete. My third one now, we actually got involved this year and ran the bottle stall.
After spending many evenings this week labelling the bottles and folding raffle tickets whilst watching the football, we were lucky enough to have gorgeous weather all day…my slightly sunburnt arms are evidence of this!
We set up our stall at lunchtime and just had enough time for a picnic before the crowds started to arrive.
We were swamped but managed to completely sell out after about an hour (I think it was our jazzy sign!) which meant we had some time to wander around the other stalls, drink Pimms, buy more books, swoon over the baby racoons and enjoy a selection of cakes!
Hopefully we have raised lots of money for the village but it was just lovely to be in the beautiful grounds of the manor house and get the whole village together to celebrate in the sunshine.
Hopefully the celebrations will continue this evening with the England match too…my best friend is coming over for a takeaway then the usual nail-biting 90 minutes will ensue!
