Ian and I started watching the new series of 24 last night. It is one of my favourite ever shows and I gave a little squeal of excitement when Jack appeared on screen!
I made three delicious pies last night and it was lovely coming home from work tonight knowing I had one waiting for me to go straight in the oven. Ian is playing football so I am going to have to try really hard to make sure I save half for him and don’t go back in for seconds!
This week’s nails was really just an excuse to swatch and try out the new Color Club nail varnish I received in April’s Birchbox. I have the shade Breakfast At… and I was really impressed with it.
You could get away with one coat but for longevity I added a second coat. It is a lovely bright pastel green but it has a pearlescent sheen to it which seems quite on trend at the moment.
I thought this would be a great opportunity to use these lemon filmo slices from She Sells Seashells. I got loads of these for a pound and I think this is a lovely nail art website – they have a cool Instagram account too!
I used a pair of tweezers to place these onto my nails while the nail varnish was still wet then sealed them with a generous layer of top coat.
So far, they have lasted four days (including 2 hair washes!) which is longer than I was expecting.
I think this is a fun and summery manicure and the girls in my class are going crazy for the lemon slices!
Right, I’m off for pie…I’ll share the recipe soon x
