Yes, the great DIY project that is our house rumbles on. We have been living here almost one year now and it looks so different to how it did when we first moved in, although there is still A LOT to do…God Bless those 6 week summer holidays I have!
One of the things I have been meaning to get around to for months has been putting up some blinds in our living room. This room is in the front of the house and has one small window and one large one, which the sun streams through in the mornings.
Whilst I love to come downstairs to a room filled with natural light, it can make watching the television an issue due to the glare.
We have a large hedge in the front garden meaning we aren’t overlooked but there is something about having no blinds or curtains up that can make it feel like someone can see what you are doing – that sounds really paranoid!!!
Anyway, the windows looked a bit bare so I finally got my act together and ordered two pale oak blinds for our windows. I do love the cosy look of curtains but I just felt like blinds would go better with the room.
So, my Dad came to stay for a few days and one evening after work last week we put them up and had some father-daughter
Here are the windows before.
You may remember me writing about how my Dad made us these wooden window sills when we decorated the room and I still love them.
We fitted the brackets…
Adjusted the length…
Et voila! Much cosier.
Two lovely wooden blinds that have transformed the room and mean I can watch Andy Murray play this morning without squinting!
Thank you Dad!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend x
