A very short but sweet recipe today which only takes mere moments to complete but tastes amazing – sugary, crunchy, nutty with a touch of spice. These American-inspired treats are perfect for the festive season ahead!
These nuts can be made in advance before a party and are great to just pick at whilst catching up with friends.
2 tablespoons of caster sugar
1 tablespoon of water
A small packet of pecan nuts (about 100g)
A pinch of salt
A pinch of cayenne pepper
How to make it
- Put the sugar and water in a pan on a medium heat for about 2 minutes, without stirring
- When the sugar has dissolved, add the pecan nuts and cook until the sugar has caramelised and evenly glazed the nuts. Keep shaking the pan so the nuts don’t stick or burn
- Sprinkle over the salt and cayenne pepper then turn out onto a sheet of baking foil and separate the nuts so you aren’t left with one sticky lump
- When they have cooled, serve with cocktails!
