Yesterday was quite possibly one of the worst days of my life. On my way to Bristol to meet my friends for pizza, I had quite a bad car accident which resulted in my car spinning 3 or 4 times and ending up in a ditch on the other side of the road.
Suffice to say I was pretty shaken up but luckily nobody was hurt and even the car is fine. I only realise now how lucky I was, but I can’t help replaying it over and over in my head and thinking what could have happened or if I could have done anything differently.
One thing that was very touching was how many people stopped to pull over and check I was OK and ask if I needed to use their phone, wanted to wait in their car or even have a cup of tea as one very nice lady offered! The kindness of strangers in moments like these can be quite moving and I doubt any of those people will ever read this but if they do I would want them to know how grateful I was.
You may think that this is a bit of an overshare but this blog is like a diary for me and it is a good release to be able to put these things into words and possibly use it as a means of saying thank you to strangers, friends and family who were there for me yesterday.
A near-miss like that can sometimes be what we need to shake us up a bit and also make us get a bit philosophical and realise what we have and to be grateful for that.
I plan to make the most of my last weekend before school starts again with good food and even better friends xxx
